PTSD Supporters Community Group
This is a group where family and friends of those with PTSD can gather support with one another and share advice...and much more. It is not easy living with and.or understanding our loved ones with PTSD...I hope this group can help make that easier!

I am coming to terms with the fact that sometimes I just need to let him go and do his thing. It can be difficult, but I am now realizing that it may be the only way for this relationship to work. It is hard to do everything under his terms, but I know that is what makes him feel safe and secure. He needs to feel in control and despite all that I have given up for him, there are still things that he has difficulty with. It is so hard for me to just let him walk away and trust that he will return, especially since his tract record says otherwise. There have been many of times where he just wants to give up on the relationship and end it, even though I have given him his space. I guess I have to trust that in the end he cares about me and cannot truly let me go. I know he loves me that I do not doubt, I just fear that his love may not be enough to keep him around through the tough times. Even so... I must learn to let go. Putting it all up to God.

Yes you are right. If it is meant to be it will be. Is it his ptsd or is it other things? Sometimes it is so hard to figure out.I certainly have had my doubts and my hubby usually only goes as far as the bedroom or basement. Now that he is on his meds and taking them right things have improved all though its still a challenge.

Sometimes people just need there own space and time it's not because they don't want to spend time with their significant other. some may deal with PTSD their own way by spending time alone so they can control their thoughts and emotions in private, Some may feel uncomfortable talking to a loved one about PTSD. Don't take it personally give him his space and like you said "putting it in god's hands". The power of prayer will help guide you and your husband--keep the faith and be patience love is a strong emotion that is worth the battle. Sending thoughts and prayers your way.
