This is a group where family and friends of those with PTSD can gather support with one another and share advice...and much more. It is not easy living with and.or understanding our loved ones with PTSD...I hope this group can help make that easier!

HELLO, I AM NEW HERE IN THIS GROUP. I KNOW THERE ARE A LOT OF US WHO HAVE SPOUSES WHO HAVE PTSD, WEATHER IT'S THROUGH THE SERVICE OR SOMETHING IN THEIR LIVES THAT GAVE IT TO THEM. WE NEED TO GET THIS GROUP STARTED UP. WHILE THEY HAVE THEIR TIMES OF NIGHTMARES AND FLASHBACKS WE GO THROUGH OUR OWN TIMES. I KNOW FOR ME IT'S HARD FOR ME TO SEE MY HUSBAND GO THROUGH THESE TIMES. IT'S NOT EASY FOR EITHER OF US.
MY HUSBAND NOT ONLY HAS PTSD HE ALSO HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH AGENT ORANGE WHILE HE WAS IN COMBAT IN VIETNAM. SO HE HAS A LOT OF THE PROBLEMS THAT AGENT ORANGE CAUSED.
I KNOW EVERYONES CIRCUMSTANCES ARE DIFFERENT BUT I FEEL WE CAN ALL USE SOME SORT OF SUPPORT FOR WHAT WE'RE GOING THROUGH BECAUSE OF WHAT OUR SPOUSES ARE GOING THROUGH. IT COULD EVEN BE A FAMILY MEMBER OR A FRIEND. WE STILL NEED SUPPORT.
I HOPE EVERYONE IN THIS GROUP HAS A VERY BLESSED NEW YEAR AND A BLESSED NIGHT. HUGS, CHRIS

Welcome Chris. The members here must be hurting a lot, because they dont seem able to come out or support others who need it too. And we do need support, maybe even more than those with it. We try to help them, our lives are changed to because of it. As the paper work I was sent when he was dx, explained, A natural reaction to any abnormal situation. Doesnt have to be war, any trauma can trigger this. So please, lets try and help each other. I know there are 6 other admins in this group who must have the understanding of what it is like on the other side.

THANK YOU FOR THE WELCOME. YES WE DO NEED SUPPORT. YES WE GO THROUGH THINGS TOO. OTHERS THAT ARE EXPERIENCING WHAT WE'RE EXPERIENCING NEED SUPPORT TOO. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL JOIN US TO RECEIVE SUPPORT AND GIVE SUPPORT.

thank you tglk for letting me know about this group.My hubby is not a vet but he does have ptsd.He grew up hard in a crazy part of town.One of the few to make it out of the place with out jail and drugs.It did leaqve him with this mental illness though.To many times I wonder if I can handle the stress that comes along with ptsd.

YES, I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. PTSD IS A VERY HARD THING TO DEAL WITH AT TIMES. WE DO NOT GO THROUGH THE SAME THINGS A PERSON WITH PTSD GOES THROUGH BUT WE DO GO THROUGH OUR OWN THING AND WE CAN USE THE SUPPORT FROM OTHERS GOING THROUGH WHAT WE'RE GOING THROUGH.
I'D LIKE TO SAY WELCOME TO THE GROUP. HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET OTHERS WHO NEED THE SUPPORT ALSO. WE'RE HERE FOR YOU. I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS GROUP UNTIL AUST TOLD ME ABOUT. I'M GLAD IT'S HERE AND I'M GLAD YOU'RE HERE TOO.
