Across the lake in what is now a summer cabin for campers and/or staff used to live a doctor and his wife. Every summer they lived there. they boated and canoed on the lake. they fished. every summer you would see the two of them out there enjoying the warm weather and having a good time, catching huge fish in the lake and cooking them on an open fire. roasting marshmellows. swimming.

one summer the couple didn't show up. it was rumored that the wife was very ill and her husband being a doctor was 100 % sure he could save her.

unfortunately, his wife died and it took MONTHGS before he would let anyone take the body from his house or bury the body. the man had lost his mind either while she was sick or from living with the dead body of his wife.

a couple of years go by, and he spends all his time talking to his dead wife. he is crazy from grief and guilt. he decides the only way to make up for the death of his wife, is to "build" another wife. this one will be the same as the wife before her, but stronger, he still has all the clothes and personal items belonging to his first wife, so all he needs now is body parts. unbeknownst to his patients, as he returns to his practice, he is monitoring them to see which patients body parts he will use to build his new wife.

he uses the legs of a cross country runner, the arms of a tennis player, the hands of an artist, the feet of a dancer, the lips of an egyptian model, the nose of an esthetician, the ears of a musician, copying dr. frankenstein, he pieces it all together and holds it in solution identical to that of a womb.

surprising everyone, he reopens the cabin across the lake and starts watching the campers. he wants a strong head and good young eyes, any color. he watches the kids play soccer, wondering who has the strongest head, he listens to them speak, wondering who is the smartest, he watches the campers watching the cabin and puts up signs to see who can read those signs. but the reason he is watching is because he wants their body parts, he isn't there to be their friend or to catch fish anymore. if anyone gets sick he sends a message, bring them here.

the doctor has one goal, he has composed most of a woman's body of the very best human parts he can find. This new wife, he decides, will never get sick. it will still be his former wife, with all of her things, but with a superior body. this body will never get sick and will never die. His search is for "The eyes of a child and the thick skull of a man". He wants the persons with the best vision and the hardest skull.

As the summer progresses the doctor is seen on camp property. The police are called but he always gets away and he always returns. He must harvest the final parts for his new person.

As scared as they are, the counsllors have a meeting, they arm themselves and track to man when he returns to his cabin. The man is shot several times, but manages to escape anyway.

The man crawls into a canoe to paddle off to safety. He is gone everyone hopes. The cabin is emptied out and cleaned. The man's house is ransacked and all the evidence taken away. The house is abandoned and empty.

But every year, when summer approaches, canoes are found floating in the lake and sometimes there appears to be a MAN sitting in a canoe with his arms crossed as the canoe and the man, float across the lake without paddling, just floating. He is still there.
