You are right, this is not the most active of groups. . .am PPMS and fighting to not use a wheel chair, but am using a mobility scooter for most distances.. .

Hello, Im here.
Just came out of hospital after 8 days of tests and from what they've told me about where the lesions on my spine are and how quickly I have become disabled, Im pretty sure Im in the PPMS category. Just adapting to four wheel walker and wheelchair, lots of scary symptoms and total life adjustment. Would love some company.

Hi! carmelb. I have been using a power wheelchair for 3 years now. I cannot walk and have no use of my left hand. I do still have my sight, my mind, and bodily functions. I just hold on to my bar and transfer onto my toilet. I cry often and hope for some kind of help some day soon. It is very scary but we have to adjust.

Hello RiS, nice of you to say hello. I am so sorry that you are now in a wheelchair full time. I only have to use mine occasionally and can still shuffle with a walker. My left hand is the worst too, I lost some of its functions a while back but can still use my laptop to type. I understand about the crying bit too..grieving for what we have lost and the people we used to be, the dreams and goals we had...this is so unexpected.
Scariest symptom for me these days is my throat feels like its closing over and I have issues with swallowing and choking - I can deal with everything else pain wise but this is horrible!

Carmel- You're still in Europe, right? Look into the TravelScoot. It's German-designed, very portable (fits into the trunk/boot of a car & in overhead lockers in planes. Mine's great!
