i am now at the half way point and quickly approaching the time when I lost my little angel, Carson. I had hyperemesis so the beginning of my pregnancy was focused on trying to keep food and liquids in. Now that I am feeling mostly better and am able to think, I find my anxiety is growing. I can feel my little rainbow's acrobatics and it is reassuring but also brings back so many memories and fears. Carson also was a very active baby and that is what caused him to kink his cord. Many people in my life act like Carson never existed and dont understand my anxiety. I have been feeling a need to reach out to others who understand. What do all of you do to help decrease your anxiety and fear of it happening all over again?
I'm glad you reached out here, I've been checking but haven't seen much activity lately.
That's great that you are feeling better, physically. I am in a similar situation as you. I am 32 weeks and I lost my daughter at 33 weeks. So approaching that time of my pregnancy has been stressful. I am going in for weekly biophysical profiles and get a monthly growth check and see my doctor weekly. So that has helped ease my mind knowing I am being closely monitored. I also try to tell myself that the odds of losing 2 babies is pretty slim. I trry to stay positive most of the time and picture holding my baby for the first time. This baby is pretty active, so feeling her moving regularly gives me peace of mind too. With all of those things, I can't say that there is any way to not stress about this pregnancy at all, there will be some stressful days for sure. The weeks have been going by fast so far and I only have 7 weeks to go, so I'm just hoping it continues to fly by. I hope it does for you too. When is your due date?
As for your other comment about other people not understanding your anxiety, I can totally relate! When people started finding out that I'm pregnant again, they act like nothing ever happened. Or so it seems to me...everyone has been very "excited for us", etc. But it feels like the elephant in the room, everyone is thinking about it but no one will mention the loss. I just wish someone would ask how I'm feeling emotionally. I don't know if people just don't realize how stressful it is or they are uncomfortable asking. But it kind of hurts that no one will bring it up. The only exceptions are my mom and mother-in-law, but we have talked about our loss with them plenty.
Well, sorry for such a long post but that stuff has been on my mind for weeks!
Thank you for your response. I'm sorry it has taken me so long. By now your little rainbow has been born. If you are still posting, please share how that all went and how you got through the last 8 weeks of pregnancy. I am now 31 weeks, due October 6th. My little guy is still as active as can be. I love feeling him move yet I still tell him to be calm and protect his cord. Earlier on I decided to publish my journal of my journey with Carson. Since my last post it has been published and available on Amazon. Several of my family members have purchased it. Even though it was an intimidating thing to do, to open myself up so much, especially during my rainbow pregnancy, I have found that it has built more of a support group for me. People have told me that it has given them a better understanding of what I am going through. If you would like to share my book with them, or get help in publishing your own experience, please message me. I feel the more we can educate others, the more awareness is built and the more support other stillbirth parents will get. Blessings to all of you!
How are you both doing now? Would to know all is well. God bless you guys!
My husband and I are hopeful to a rainbow baby. Trying to have nature that it's course :)
Thank you for your well wishes. We are now at almost 39 weeks and going strong. Our little Rainbow is active, healthy and getting cramped! We should be able to hold his lively self very soon! Anxiety is still something I have to work through throughout this journey but we are excitedly awaiting our little miracle. You, your husband, and your little angel are in our prayers, as well as any rainbows waiting to light upon you!
