Well my rainbow baby boy, Conner David, was born on July 11, 2011 @ 6:39pm weighing 6lbs 14oz and measuing 20 in. He is so cute and little, looks just like his daddy. Everything went very well. My induction started at 9am and progressed pretty quickly at first, I tried to go without an epidural, but the pain was immense and I wasn't dilating anymore after 4hrs. My OB advised me to get epidural because that would relax me and most likely speed up the process of dilation, so I gave in and had the epidural. Sure enough within an hour, I went from 3 to 7! Once I was fully dilated the doctor asked me to push and baby's head came down right away. Then I heard my OB yell out that he ghad a tight nuchal cord and ofcourse DH and I panicked. She took care of the cord and told me to push again and he was out! I was so glad she induced me then because I can't even imagine if the cord got tighter while he was inside me for a few more days.
I began crying when I heard those first cries, it was so amazing. I thanked God for this wonderful gift. He was all purple at first but then turned pink and looked perfect. As soon as they put him in my arms he started to nurse like a pro. After two days in the hospital we got to go home and start our life with a new baby.
It was a scary pregnancy but thank God it all turned out fine. For all of you who are expecting your rainbow, I can tell you it is worth it, it is worth every worry and trip to the OB and worth anything you have to go through. You will be blessed in the end and the happiness is undescribable. I wish you all the best of luck and hope to hear your birth stories of your screaming, healthy rainbows.
Thank you all so much for all the support you gave me over the last 9 months, without you guys I would've gone nuts. I love you akk and have you guys in my prayers.
