I lost my daughter 22th of April and Im pregnant again. I just found out yesterday. Have already taken two pregnancy tests just to make sure :)
Im feeling kind of guilty now, I feel like Im betraying my daughter because Im pregnant so soon. Her father feels the same way. Is that something you can relate to? I went to her grave yesterday and told her that I was giving her a sibling. Im sure she would be happy but I cant help feeling that way.
But Im so glad that Im pregnant even though it hasnt quite sunken in yet. Its like I dont want to believe it or something because the last one went so wrong, And its also strange to be pregnant with another child and not my daughter which I miss so much every day.
Congratulations on the pregnancy!! I can't necessarily relate to the feelings of guilt but I'm 30 wks 5 days and have done nothing with my daughter's things. I keep thinking that I need to pack her stuff away and get ready for a boy, but so far it hasn't happened yet.
A rainbow pregnancy is an emotional roller coaster. You will have bad days and good days; hopefully those guilty feelings will diminish.
I was only 3-4 months in between pregnancies, I think I felt like I lost 2 things when I lost angel, I lost her, and I also lost my role as 'mom'. Getting pregnant again was my way of healing, coz I could restore that role of 'mom', even if I couldn't ever get my angel back. I am sure that as the pregnancy progresses you will feel better, you are not replacing your angel, this baby is a new person, completely different to your angel.
I used to feel angry that others would see me being pregnant again as me getting over my angel, that will never happen. I felt like saying to some of them if one of your kids died, it would be just fine for you coz you've got 2 others (or however many) of course I never said that, but that is what they were saying to me... grrr. don't feel guilty, this is a new step for you, no replacing, but a step in the healing process....
