Coping with pregnancy after stillbirth

Thank you everyone for your support and kind words in response to my "so scared" post yesterday. I can't tell you how much all of you mean to me.
I am happy to report that things improved ALOT overnight. Baby's heart rate strip looked great all night (I know because I watched it instead of sleeping, but who can really sleep at the hospital anyway?). I was able to get both shots of steroids and I got to have a lengthy discussion with our NICU doctor, who was very reassuring. The baby's fluid on the ultrasound this morning had increased to the normal range and it looks like he worked himself out of his nuchal cord overnight-- which I know doesn't mean alot, he could get right back tangled in it-- but it made me feel better to know that things are better now.
After much debate, the OB, The neonatologist and my husband /myself all decided that we feel better letting him "bake" inside for a while longer. I will be having NST's and ultrasounds every tues and friday from here on out and you can bet I will be presenting myself at the hospital with absoulutely NO notice if I feel anything is slightly off. If at any point things don't look nearly perfect, we will be proceeding with delivery. I was told to rest and drink lots of fluids and monitor movement at home, and that is what I'm concentrating on. Right now I feel ok with this plan. Of course my anxiety is through the roof, but I am trying to keep calm about it.
thank you all for your support and prayers. I will continue to need them in the days and weeks to come.

Oh my goodness, so scary. I'm glad to hear everything is better and that everyone came to a comfortable decision. I just wanted to throw out the idea of daily monitoring. I used Alere everyday during the week (except for the 2/week at the OBs office and the once/week BPP at the MFS' office) and then went to the hospital every day on the weekends for about an hour NST. My OB requested these as necessary visits and they were all covered by insurance. Alere sends a nurse to your home. Of course daily kick counting 3 times a day or even more are important too, but I'm sure you are already doing this. Just thought I would throw these ideas out there in case you weren't aware of them. Wishing you the absolute best and can't wait to hear your rainbow has arrived safe and screaming. Hugs, Stacy

How scarey Whitney. I am so glad that everything is okay and you are both doing well. I am sorry I missed your original post but did see on FB that something was up and was keeping you in my prayers. I hope the time flies for you and you are able to keep calm (ya right!). It will all be worth it! He will be here soon!!!
