A lot of people don't have a clue as to what stress can result from a traumatic experience. I came home from Vietnam 41 years ago, and still have some nightmares. I completely understand what you're going through.
Heavenly Father, you see what my sister is going through. You know her heart and you know her faith. I pray in the name of Jesus that you will send her peace through the blood of your cross, and help her to forgive. Lord, she's your child. Your word tells us that you desire that we prosper even as our soul prospers. I pray blessings and peace over my sister, and ask that your Spirit reaches others to convince them to pray for her. I ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus. AMEN

Thank you so much. I was able to sleep on the night of the anniversary. I cried for about 10 minutes give or take, and then told myself the truth from what I learned in counseling, and that calmed me down, and I was out like a light. I am awaitinf for today to be up because then the one year anniversary will have past. I, however, am close to doing some kissing (hand or cheek) as well as writing poems about the rape.

Dear Lord Jesus, your child is struggling with forgivness for her rapist and in doing so she is doing what satan wants her to do. I ask You to give her the understanding of forgivness - the forgiveness that you gave us when you hung on the cross, forgiveness so one can say with pity "forgive them for they know not what they do". I have learnt that forgiveness is necessary so satan does not have a hold on me and so I can move forward and I pray she will receive the same. I ask this in your precious name, amen.

I've learned when I can't sleep I read scripture.... not anything in particular, but I just open and start reading, God usually shows me something. And there's usually a reason I can't sleep cuz He wants me spending time with Him.

I'm glad you got thru that anniversary, but it seems there may be a lot more healing involved here. I pray Lord that you'll help this child of God get to a point someday they can forgive their attacker, and that better yet, their attacker come to know the Lord, In Jesus name!!!
