I made this group because I am currently struggling with postpartum depression and I wanted to talk with other mothers who have gone through or who are currently going through it
Hello ladies i am here to tell you it gets better i got on medication and working on getting better and i am feeling a lot better now ! And will be off my meds soon hang in there moms i know it’s hard and i am here if you need to talk
My son will be two in April I had terrible ppd! I never felt like I wanted to harm my son but I felt like him and my husband would be better off without me that I should just run away & not look back. My sons crying would send me through a world wind. It got so bad I sold our home and moved my family back in with mother in hopes of finding some relief. I did in many ways but I still knew something was wrong. I was under this impression that you're supposed to automatically have this huge bond with your baby but for me that was not the case. I went to my primary care dr and asked for meds but she refused saying I was to young I was 21 at the time so at that I felt even more let down that I had turned to help & been denied. I then put myself in out patient therapy as I started getting bad anxiety and panick attacks at that point. It was like an eveloping tunnel of darkness I thought I would have no way out of. I went to therapy and learned a lot of tools by the time my son was 7 months old I started to feel a bit better but people will tell me do you remember when he did this or that and I honestly don't because I was SO unhappy that some memories were blocked out and didn't register. It makes me very sad I feel I missed out. My husband and I are talking about having another child but to be honest I'm legit scared out of my mind about it! My son and I are great now as I learned how to fall into this role but my pregnancies are hell and after I had my son I had a stroke and then ppd so idk if that's something I want to do again, but I feel as if I'm stunting my families growth on fear.
