Is there anyone out there who may have hypoparathyroidism caused by a sub total thyroidectomy or other endocrine problems?
I had surgery in April 2016, after the operation I was told I had low levels of calcium. I was monitored closely and hoping that my parathyroids would be restored after the surgery. However, I was never given very much hope by my endocrinologist. As of today they remain damaged and unable to perform their duties. For those of you who are dealing with this you understand. I've gone from hopeful to devastated back to hopeful again. I want to have faith and believe that the Lord will restore them at some point but as of now, The reality is they are not functioning correctly.
Maybe we can help ourselves to prevent any issues that may arise in the future. There's not a whole lot of information out there for us and there are very few of us that have this disorder. We can only hope and pray that hormone replacement will be provided to help us. Until then we have calcium and vitamin
