Oh Geez, I don't want to sound "holier then thou", but don't you have enough issues with the MS? Stop smoking....it can only help. I only mean that with the best intentions. I would tell anyone that, especially those I love the most. So make a resolution and quit.

I smoke and have MS, but I do know that I read some where that if u have a flare and smoke it will make it worse. I have also experienced that. So I am trying to quit.

Acording to one study, smoking does make our MS worse. But, we also have a higher rate of cancer because of our impaired immune systems, so smoking increases it even higher...right?

I agree it is hard. I have been trying for 5 months. I have used lollipops and gum.... no success yet. But I have cut down a lot. I smoke less than a pack a day. I also smoke outside...which cuts the smoke short when its cold and snowing or raining heh heh heh.

I quit smoking 4/26/06 and other than the 2 weeks withdrawal, 21 lb gain, no more wheezing since, no more smelly clothing or having to stand outside in horrible weather I really haven't noticed much changes with my SX.


Since 04/26/06, it's been: Two years, seven months, four weeks, 10 hours, 7 minutes and 12 seconds. 29202 cigarettes not smoked, saving $8,031.07. Life saved: 14 weeks, 3 days, 9 hours, 30 minutes. Since 8/07, spent $24091, billed, on lawyer's fees.
