We went to our Neurologist's a few weeks ago. He's the head of Neurology at Hopkins (lucky us!), so I thought I'd tell you all what he said:
*Ampyra*- looks like a promising drug. It's available 3/12 (I think). It should help to improve walking. But sometimes it helps only a little. Sorry- I can't remember how it helps- balance, I think?
He told us to take *Cymbalta* first. If it doesn't work, he'll move to Ampyra. Ted has such pain in his feet sometimes that it feels like he's walking/standing on feet that have no skin. (That makes me sad.) Dr. MacArthur said that Cymbalta can help with that. It should dull the pain as well as deal with mood issues. He said that it is low on the list of erection killers too- anti-depressants tend to do that.
Ted also has *burning hands and feet*. He said that that is often a side effect of too much vitamin B5.
I have notes on all of this, but it is at Ted's house. I'll try to snag it and get you some more details. : )

AS FAR AS AMPYRA GOES IT`S A NEW DRUG(I THINK?) AND HAD TO GO THRU THE SAFETY TRIALS FIRST. THE FDA DOES HAVE A FAST TRACK PROGRAM, WHERE A CERTAIN DRUG IS "PUSHED THRU" THE SYSTEM QUICKER.
Are you going to try it?
It does sound promising. Will keep reading & hope to hear good results from it too.
