Is it possible to get your mom a new phone number? Or would she balk and say that other people won't be able to get ahold of her.
I have been writing in my journal all day about my frustration with the world and it suddenly occurred to me that when I die, the people who read this are not going to be uplifted. They will read about a cranky, old lady who was negative.
So I am going to start a new journal tomorrow - one filled with positive thoughts and a list of things I am grateful for. An attitude of gratitude. It won't be easy - but I am really going to try.
Tonight, I am thankful that my hubby is gone away on business and I don't have to make a big supper and that my big dog is on house arrest because he hurt his leg so I don't have to take him on a long walk like my husband does when he is home. And I am thankful that my dog is healing.
Maybe you can be thankful that you got thru the stressful period with your mom. And that you are going away for a few days.
I have realized that I have to be thankful for small things and little moments thruout the day. And be thankful at the end of the day, that all is well.
Is it possible for you to call police or telephone company or speak to the man directly and see what he wants?
Big hugs to you,
One thing I have helped to increase my sense of gratitude for things in my life is writing gratitude lists while in AA and in my morning meditation saying "Thank You" for all of the good things in my life that I appreciate.
Today I am thankful for my apartment and my cat, the fact that I broke up with my emotionally abusive boyfriend and although he is not feeling good about it (ha!) he is indeed leaving me alone and respecting my space.
Journaling as SingYourGutsOUt mentioned is extremely helpful, so you can reflect on and make lists of things that you are grateful for as well as process what you are going through, which sound like a lot.
