Your mother should have an expectation of what results she should see from using a medication. Understanding of side effects is also important. Questions like: How will this med improve my blood work? Why is this med a good choice for me? What type of results should I look for in the long term to determine if this med is working well?

I've not heard of this drug before in treating Myositis but that doesn't mean it isn't a valid medication. I hope her doctor has a strong understanding of Myositis and the best treatments for her. Be sure she is monitored close for any side effects and to make sure it is working.
