Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.
I agree with Nanny that your question should be checked with the doctor. I have GERD. I just take my Omeprazole as needed which is two or three times a week. Everyone has different issues with the stomach. Taking stomach meds are important because the disease can cause some big stomach & intestinal problems. I know most people think they are taking the med to avoid ulcers from prednisone, but the disease itself is the bigger issue.
