Stop taking Pepcid?

So good news, I was able to get off of Prednisone the other day. I am still taking Plaquenil, My Rhuemy still perscribed me the Famotodine. Should I still take it if I am done with the prednisone?

Congratulations on getting off prednisone! You might want to check with your doctor or pharmacist about your question. Some thoughts to consider are (1) the prednisone might take some time to get out of your system and (2) maybe your other meds affect your stomach. I would definitely check on this, especially before you spend money on another refill. Plus, if you're like I am, taking one less pill is always good. Best wishes to you.

Krissytin, It is great news that you are off prednisone! YEAH!!!!

I agree with Nanny that your question should be checked with the doctor. I have GERD. I just take my Omeprazole as needed which is two or three times a week. Everyone has different issues with the stomach. Taking stomach meds are important because the disease can cause some big stomach & intestinal problems. I know most people think they are taking the med to avoid ulcers from prednisone, but the disease itself is the bigger issue.
