Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.

I have still been driving, though it seems to be tiring me out if I am out and about too long. I was even able to take a box of things from my car up to my apartment. I did put it down a few times. I make sure not to do too much or to cause myself harm.

I received a supply of Cellcept today that has 7 refills. I have to order through a mail order pharmacy now to cut cost per my insurance company. It was just strange to see 7 refills. It shows that I am going to be on it long term. I knew in the back of my mind that it was going to be 4-5 years for recovery, but at least the bottle from the retail pharmacy only showed 3-4 refills.

At least a couple of the supplements and other meds that my primary had me on have been discontinued which helps lower my RX cost. Between the two insulins that I am taking, my purse is bare.

I plan to attend a yoga class this evening at my local library. I will let you know how it goes. Have a great day everyone.

So glad you are feeling better. I hope the yoga is peaceful and relaxing and a bit of stretching. Be sure to tell the instructor that you have a muscle disease and you should not be pushed in any way. Not all instructors can work well with us DM/PM folks, but Yoga is a really good place to start. Good for you..that is a great idea to do yoga. I hear you about seeing the number of refills and Cellcept - it is a journey and we are here for you and Thank God for Cellcept to help us! I'm glad the cost is cheaper through the mail order.

I really don't think that the number of refills on your Cellcept should really concern you. You could go to your next appointment and they may change it to something else. Try not to read to much into the refill amount and I'm happy to hear you're tying yoga and it;s relaxing and giving you a peace of mind.

Brenda, it's great to hear that you are making progress. That's wonderful! And I hear you about being out and about too long. As Kim mentioned, I wouldn't be too concerned about the number of refills on your Cellcept, because things can change. I hope that you have a really positive time at yoga class this evening--peaceful and relaxing as Shawna said. I'll be looking forward to your report on yoga class.

Wonderful that you are making progress. I've been doing my Yoga at home. There are a few beginner DVD's and they even have chair exercises, and exercises for people with less flexibility. Have fun at the class!

I didn't get a chance to attend the yoga class after all. My daughter injured her ankle last Friday and I went out and purchased supplies and came home and played doctor on her instead. She starts classes on Monday and the injury doesn't seem to want to improve, so I am using old fashioned remedies to get her going, but I am going to the library today to get some yoga DVDs and stopping by the pool to schedule my water aerobics. I had spoken with the lady who is in charge of the pool and thought that it was in a different area of the city and was watching the news the other night and found out it is a few blocks from me at the neighborhood high school. Now that is a Blessing. I go by that school all the time and am always commenting on how nice their pool area is.

Now I just need to purchase a bathing suit that will fit over my stomach and get started. At least now I can drive myself up there on my off days.

Thats great to hear and enlightening. I hope that I can get to a point where I have the strength to do something like yoga (and drive, my car is sitting in the garage catching dust). keep it up :D

Medoriko before I became ill I had gotten to the point where I hated driving. Many years ago I drove city busses in MI and I loved it. I love driving cross country except through congested areas, but I have had to commute so much for work that I dreaded getting behind the steering wheel, but once I couldn't drive, I wanted my freedom back, especially when I got off work and wanted to go to the store or library and my daughter would be at work. I was feeling trapped and had to come up with other things to do.

I became a Food Network and HGTV junkie, which is not so bad. I love to bake, except that now with all of my meds I can afford only so much butter and sugar. In fact I am baking a pound cake today for the church across the street that is having a cake walk. I hope that you will soon be able to drive again. It truly is a freedom.
