Hi Angelamic... I have telangiectasis which is small red spots on different body parts including on the inside of my mouth. Telangiectasis is part of my Scleroderma, and these can look like spider veins coming out of red spots.

I also have a couple small to medium brownish freckle looking spots on my back. My brown freckles are called Morphea which is a hard skin. The morphea can look a little like moles or be more flattened and wide. Morphea is also part of Scleroderma. Sclero - hard, derma - skin.

I hope your doctor will be able to figure out the cause of your new skin revelations. I would not panic because weird skin stuff does happen frequently with any autoimmune disease. When the immune system gets lowered by a powerful medication, sometimes an unwelcome skin thing can pop up. I have weird stuff pop up from time to time. When I feel better and my system gets stronger then often new weird skin stuff goes away for me.

Hi Angelamic - funnily enough I have today had four red itchy spots on my forehead and some near my mouth appear as if out of nowhere! I am on MTX (4th week) whether it is a coincidence or not I don't know but I definitely am not liking them!!

I noticed an increase in brown spots that concerned me. I went to a Dermatologist. They called it Actinic Keratosis which is basically sun spots. I'm very fair skinned and have had freckles all my life. I was told they are pretty normal but keep an eye on them in case they change significantly.

I started growing skin tags when I started Prednisone. I was a regular at my Dermatologist office to get them burned off. If I am brave and catch them early enough that they are small, I sometimes shave them off myself.

I have lots of moles...all are normal.

I have lost most of my arm hair, leg hair, and underarm hair. Don't need to shave anymore, as it can barely be seen by other people. These are the only places I've lost hair.

If my cat scratches either of my hands, I get purpas (purple dots) on the arm above the scratch. Looks like blood spots under a thin layer of my skin. Also, I bleed very easy, but still clot normally.
I think my skin has gotten thinner.

Hi there Buttercup. The Prednisone makes the skin thinner. I got all kinds of odd spots and marks on my skin when I was taking it. It all went away when I stopped taking the Pred. Autumm

going to dema Monday..and then g/i doc the next week. he thinks i may have gallbladder disease too! ugh .lol wish me luck :)
