Sorry to hear this Brenda, and I can really relate. Myositis is strange...just when you get a handle on it something gets worse. I feel I am going down hill lately and can hardly move my arms sometimes. Have you done anything that has stressed the shoulder girdle area? I drop things constantly and have carpal tunnel in my wrists. Best case scenario is that you are just in a flare that will pass. Best wishes and keep taking it easy if you can.

Brenda, You hit the nail on something new every few weeks!! I am frustrated that doctors do not know enough about how this disease progresses. I feel like a hypochondriac. I know my doctors look at me and shake their heads like it is all my imagination.

I am flaring again. I have no idea what causes flares. I did have flares even when I was taking a sparring drug. No one can answer what is causing an elevated ALT liver score. The meds do not fix elevated liver. I think Shawna was helpful in suggesting to check macrocytic anemia. I was wondering why my doctors do not bother to be the detectives? Why must we be our own detectives? A simple question like What causes flares? No answers about causes from the doctors.

You are right about staying positive. It is called thank The Lord in a helpless situation. It is strange to not have answers to pains.

Hi Brenda when I was working I use to fall asleep at work all the time for no reason. the shaking of your hands could be that you are using the muscles in your hands to much. but hope you find out what is the cause of it. Hope you fell better soon.

Yes, I often drop things and get really aggravated with myself. Also, my outer fingers (ring & pinkie) shake whenever I try to type and don't work well anymore. This time of year is always the worst for me, and right now I am preparing to see my doctor. Not sure if its the PM or the Lupus that's acting up. A couple months ago my shoulders started to pop and crack, which is always a bad sign. So the dropping of things and the fingers shaking have worsened. This might be the PM. But I'm also having vision, hearing, and cognitive issues, which could be the Lupus. When one things settles down, something else acts up. Very frustrating! Best wishes to you.
