Polymyositis & Dermatomyositis Support Group
Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.
My Reuhmy wants me to get some tests done to check to see if there are any cancerouse cells lurking around in my body. I am scared to see if there is something, yet relieved once I get it out. I had blood tests done a couple weeks ago too, waiting on those. Been tired, moody, and unhappy during this week. Im on 25mg of Prednisone now. Taking pepcid with it and plaquelin. Went to the eye doctor, spent three hours there. Good to hear that my eye sight is fine. just have to remember to do that self test at home from time to time. Wish I could have something that would put in a better mood. Hate being irritable to others.
I know The Myositis Association has an excellent video from the last conference that discusses cancer in myositis and the autoantibodies associated with the cancer. You might be interested in watching the video, but it is long so make popcorn before viewing.
I would not get worried about the cancer check. It is routine to check for cancer. I know there are several people on this site who will have some helpful tips on this subject from their own experience. I hope you will feel better. Keep us posted.
