I am on Opana ER 30 mgs every 12 hours and 10 mgs intermittenly as I need them. I know that they are what allows me to get thru my days. I still have the muscle damage and whatever else goes along with my PM. My fingers are still numb and painful every second of everyday. I am starting Acthar this week and my neurologist also wants me to continue with my monthly infusion, which I am against, The last infusion caused me to become very ill. My rheumatologist thinks that the Acthar is the answer and i will see. I had the first order delivered to me a month ago but have not started using it yet. I have an appt with him on Wednesday and will have his nurse instruct my daughter how to give me the shots since my fingers are so numb.

My concern now is with the Opana if the Acthar works and I no longer need Opana. I know that I am dependent on it and have gotten so I take the pills before the other wears off and the pain becomes more than I can bare. I have that problem if I sleep late like this morning, I have to keep the pills by my bed so I can take one as soon as I open my eyes. Has anyone had to deal with stopping this type of medication?

I am trying to get a better quality of life. I want to be able to take on a part time job to earn some addt money and I cna't trust doing it with 80 mgs of Opana in my system everyday. I am hoping to be able to drive again and can't do it with this in my system.
