Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.

Can you believe I go to the RH and the results aren't in. She says she is 100 % I have DM even though my blood test came back normal again. So I have to wait for a couple of days to confirm whatever. I told her I'm experiencing more weakness in my arms and she did a test and said that I had more strength in my arms then my legs. Waiting is a pain.

And the uncertainty makes life more stressful. My philosophy is that "I can deal with what is, but I can't deal with what if." Try to hang in there, Trevor. Most of us have been where you are and understand. Best wishes.

Hi Trevor. I am sorry you are still waiting. It takes a particular specialist to report on these biopsies. There are few of them around and it can take time. The stress is not helping you. Let us know when you know. Hope its not too long now. Autumm

Hi Trevor, Over time you will find that there will be a lot of waiting on test results. It is sort of like big anticipation and then after you experience the truth, it is just not the big deal you thought it would be.

It is great that your tests came back normal. It sounds like the meds are working for you. I know you probably feel crummy with "normal" test results. Eventually, you will adjust and feel better over time.
