Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.

New site for DS

Has anyone looked at a preview of the new site. It's the stuff of which nightmares are made. It asked me to re register to look at it but would not let me register but it didn't matter as it let me look anyway. Can't find anyone I know on the site or any PM/DM site. It looks horrible, are they doc no this to connect to Facebook. Would be interested in how others feel and if you don't hear from me it's because I can no longer find you on this new site. Autumm

Hi Autumn, I agree the new site is a NIGHTMARE. I can not find the DM/PM group either. I do not understand why this site needs to mess up a good thing. We have our groups and people feel free to talk & visit here. I am saddened that this nice site might be about to become something that might turn off and turn away most of us.

I refuse to get on facebook or social media since it appears to be a violation of privacy.

If the new DS site is too hard to navigate then I will stick with TMA.

I feel the same Autumn. To EVERYONE: If you do not hear from me it is because I can no longer find you on the new DS site. Trpt1

I've clicked on the DM/PM group and my computer won't connect. I was wondering what was wrong. It will show if someone makes a comment, and then I can read it. I hope I don't lose contact with you all either.

The preview site is only a sample of what DS will look like soon. There is a disclaimer that none of our accounts and forums have been transferred over to the new site yet, but they should be in the next few weeks. The preview site is only for the purpose of getting feedback from us (the users). Nothing that we would write on there is going to remain, because its only purpose is to work out "bugs" and get our feedback. The reason you are supposed to set up a new account is simply so things don't get confused with our current accounts. Once the current DS accounts and forums are shifted over, our comments and friends will still be there, but we will navigate through the new website a little differently.

I agree with you, Autumm. This site is a real blessing. As for the new site being so difficult, it's not surprising. Programming and setting up websites can be quite tedious, which is why they want our feedback on the new site. One small "bug" in a program can cause many large problems. And DS is quite a large website, so I'm sure that the team behind it have their hands full. But as you said, I certainly hope the transition goes well and that we all stay in touch.
