Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.

Freelee, very informative and looks really good. I haven't checked all of the links yet but from first glance I can say you did a great job. Looking at one of the links in particular "Myositis for beginners" it will educate those unfamilar with this terrible disease.

Continue the good work and kudos to you for setting this up.

vgiles - yes http://www.myositis.org/pdf/CONF05/oddis_beginners.pdf is a good link for beginners but my favourite is MDA http://www.mda.org/publications/fa-myosi-qa.html
because it has the diagram of the aching parts of the body. I think I would have got a quicker diagnosis if i had seen this to show to a doctor - you know a picture speaks a thousand words. Actually i AM GOING TO CONTACT THEM AND SEE IF i CAN USE THIS DIAGRAM ON MY WEBSITE.
