Hi Sara, My muscle biopsy did not hurt much. I remember my elementary students kept asking to see my stitches so they could say,"Eeee Ooooo!" I actually waited for the stitches to heal up before showing them to the kids. That was my experience! I did have some pains but not bad. I had to be sure to not get the stitches wet in the shower too.

Hi Sara. Nerves do take a while to knit but heat needs checking by a doctor just in case you have an infection at the biopsy site. Autumm

My muscle biopsy was done as the same time as surgery on my broken leg, so I don't know how much discomfort was caused by the surgery and how much by the biopsy. But I know that others on this forum over the years have had difficult times recuperating, so you're not alone. As Autumm suggested, if you have concerns, do consult your doctor. Best wishes to you.

I wonder if they did a nerve biopsy too. Do you know? My incision site was numb for quite awhile. Several months. I agree that heat could be a sign of infection. Call your doctor's office.

Hi, I know this a delayed response, but I just joined today. I hope your biopsy site feels betters by now. I had my biopsy 10/12/2015; & it is still numb. The numbness is normal, but your site should not be on "fire". Update us on how you are now.

I should have clarified more. The site was not hot to the touch but more like an intense burning sensation when bumped. Its gotten better and is now just itchy and numb. Had a follow up and doc said it looked good. Now trying to find a rheumatologist to see me. First appt I could get is March and I am getting worse each week.

Hi Sara. Please do ask your doctor to contact the Rheumatologist for you. All good Rheumatologists know this disease has to be hit hard and fast for the best outcome. Waiting until March is not really an option. Best wishes. Autumm

My primary care physician made some calls and got me an appt with a rheumatologist on Jan 8th. Its a few hours away but at this point I dont care!
