Hi everyone! At first I didn't feel comfortable saying that it is my birthday today, especially since it has been a while since I have posted. Then I remembered how nice everyone has been and figured, why not?
It's true, I turned 54 today!! I still cannot believe my birthday number is in the fifties!! I am thankful, however, since there are many who do not have the privilege of reaching this age.
I haven't been able to post lately because I have been dealing with two compression fractures in my low back, L-4 and L-5. I fell in September and am still going through trying to get it fixed! Long, long story, but I should be getting my second opinion MRI done in a couple of weeks, or sooner!
I am still dealing with DM also. My rheumy has suggested IVIG. This was a while back and I wasn't familiar at all with it and still don't know too much. I have had to put my doc appts on hold until my back is fixed.
Anyway, I hope all of you are enjoying your day. It has brightened mine to just be able to come here and say hello!
Hugs!

PS Our son is in the air force and was deployed to Afghanistan a couple of weeks ago. He called me at midnight last night to wish me a happy birthday. He said he wanted to be the first one! Made me cry happy tears.

Happy birthday, Sheri. I hope you had a fantastically great day. Regarding your compression fractures, do you have Osteoporosis also? A few years before my current autoimmune problems, I had a compression fracture of my L-1, and spent 3 months in a metal body cast. Quite painful at first, and not much fun. But at least I healed quickly then. I hope they figure out how to help you soon. Best wishes to you. And, again, happy birthday.

Happy Birthday Sheri!! God bless you and your family! I send thanks to your son for his service and for the sacrifice you all make for me and my country. I hope your MRI goes well and you get relief and healing for you back. My Mom was on IGIV and they actually improved her quality of life incredibly. In her case they were in my opinion a miracle drug. Best wishes!:)

Thank you to your son for the service he is doing for us. May he return safely to you. As for IVIG, I have been getting these infusions for a long time. They are helpful to me and I hope to continue receiving them. Best wishes for your back healing!

I'm so sorry it has taken me this long to thank all of you!!! I have been having a really tough time and have been spending a lot of time either in my chair or in bed. We have had a lot of ups and downs in our weather and that hasn't helped anything. I still haven't been able to get my MRI. I had to cancel the last one because I was too ill to go. The next one available wasn't until June 10th!! I am on a cancellation list and I also called my doc's office and the nurse is keeping a lookout for a cancellation as well. Hopefully soon!! Thanks again so much! I really appreciate it!! :)
