Hi Freelee. My dad's diabetic neuropathy had electrical zaps in his toes which felt like wasp stings. He had tingling in his hands and up his arms. He also had a lot of numbness. A neuropathy has nerve issues.

I hope the doctors find out what is going on with your nerves. My dad took Cymbalta for his neuropathy but it did not help much. I think now doctors just use pain meds.

I used to have the tingling in several fingers frequently but have not noticed it since I have been on IVIG. However I have the electrical sensation that feels like it is just under the skin mostly on my right thigh which sometimes correlates to spasms. I have the burning sensation quite often in the facial area and lower legs and feet even with the IVIG but it is less if I have a chance to get my feet up for a break. My EMG looked good at the time of the test and I test as if there is no diabetic issue but it sure sounds like a lot of diabetics have similar symptoms.

Sometimes when I sleep at night, I get vibrations from my feet to my knees. It isn't painful. It's not a neuropathy tingling. It is just like a low electrical current zipping up my leg.

It doesn't happen often and since it isn't painful, I haven't really done much about it.

Yes, I have these problems from time to time. Last night it was in the big toe of my left foot. Frequently I get it from my knees down. For that, walking helps. But it's always at night--just when I want to sleep, not walk!. But when it affects my toes, I haven't found a remedy yet. It's awful. My rheumy has no answers. Hope you get answers to this nerve racking condition.

I failed to mention that I sometimes have internal vibrations, by which I mean in my abdomen. Am wondering if that's something that has a name and definition. So far all these things happen at night.
