So sorry to read of your current situation. As trpt1 mentioned, it sounds like you're in a flare. My suggestion is that if things get worse before Monday's rheumy appointment, don't hesitate to go to the ER. Also, if you are able to wait until Monday, ask your doctor to check your ESR (sed. rate) and your vitamin d level in case you are deficient. You might also try some safe natural things to get you through this weekend, such as not eating grains, incorporating turmeric, cinnamon, and coconut oil into your diet for inflammation, avoiding sugar and artificial sweeteners, etc. Best wishes, Trevor. Hi Trevor. I am sorry to read your post. How much prednisone are you taking and when did you start the Cellcept. It does sound like a flare but it's so important to hit it hard and fast with a big dose of Prednisone as the Cellcept can take some months to kick in and help. Thanks for the info. I'm only on 30 mg of prednisone and started cell crept beginning of this month .,I don't know why I'm having issues with my spine and I have a rash behind both ears and on my arm

Hi Trevor. Your doctor might up the Prednisone while you wait for the Cellcept to kick in which can tie 2 or 3 months. There are often associated Arthritis when you are having a flare. I used to have awful pain in my right arm which I imagined was bone pain but was muscle. I am assuming you had a full work up at diagnosis and any other under lying causes have been ruled out. I am sorry you are going through all this Trevor. It's the old story with our friend Myositis, we need time and patience along with the drugs. I do so hope Cellcept kicks in soon and works for you. I went to to the rhemy. She up my prednisone to 40mg for 2 weeks then taper 5 every two weeks. My fingers, arms legs feel so week. I don't think I have a good time in the day. I hope this passes fast. Walking to the doctors office was a challenge

Hi Trevor. Sorry to hear you have the Prednisone upped but is a necessary evil to get on top of this. Slowly the Cellcept will kick in and you can turn the corner. Stay in touch, we are here and will see you through. This disease is a Mrathon there are no Sprint answers. We all need time and patience to get there. Try to walk a little but more each day without pushing yourself, it does help. Take the Prednisone early early of a morning ( I used to take mine at 5am) this way you have a chance of some sleep at night. Watch the diet, reduce carbs and increase your fruit and vegetables. You will get thee Trevor but it will take a bit of time but slowly, slowly you will turn that corner. Best wishes. Autumm

Also I have a problem eating solid foods so I've been eating soups and smoothies and scrambled eggs

Hi Trevor. Do you mean you have a swallowing problem. This is common when the disease is flaring. It should settle on your dose of steroid but if not your doctor may have to take it higher. Do watch this and seek immediate help if it does not improve. It is good that you are eating even though it's just liquids for now. When are you seeing your Rheumatologist again.
