Polymyositis & Dermatomyositis Support Group
Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.
I do not know about the papules being on the palms. I think looking at DM pictures and reading some articles may give more information on all the places they could be located. Try not to mistake them for flat warts. Flat warts that are tiny can be located anywhere. I get flat warts too.
I remember seeing an image of an xray at one point of a patient's hand with DM and they had calcifications all over their hands and arms.. curious if thats what i'm feeling>?
I occasionally get one on my fingers. If it gets filled with fluid, I pop it. Doesn't hurt. Sometimes doesn't fill up. Goes away as painlessly as it comes. Usually I can ignore it.
Haven't had one since 2012.
Will do a little research on them.
