Luckily I have a laptop, but with my weakness I am unable to lift it (lol), so I have my fiance place it on my lap..but I can still only stay on so long, as I get the shoulder/forearm/wrist weakness and pain awful quick :(

I have a laptop and like Brandia, I use to have a hard time lifting it. It felt like 100lbs. But thankfully now I don't have a problem lifting it, however it's still a little heavy to me. I keep it on a snack table (the ones that fold up) and set it in front of me. The table is high enough whereas my arms and wrists don't fatigue as fast. I usually set up in my bedroom where I have my comfy chair and can either sit up or relax my back (very important) while surfing the net. Position of your computer is important. I find that the closer it is to me the easier it is - keep your back supported, try using an armchair as well - you can relax your arms/elbows. I love my computer and feel lost without it. I've found out a lot about my disease through my computer searches. Don't give up trying ways to improve the quality of using your computer, it can help you escape from your illness and even take you to a different world.

As the others said, the key is finding support for your arms. I find sitting on the comfy couch with my laptop in my lap works for me. Sometimes I use a TV tray but my arms get more tired that way because they have to hang. I also work to keep my arms relaxed...which is tricky because computer work is taxing on the arm muscles.

I too find the laptop heavy. I usually have to use both arms to pick it up and even then it can be tricky. My work laptop weighs 7 lbs. I asked for a light weight one but they couldn't give me one because they have "standard issue". It is crazy!

I work 8-10hrs per day just sitting at a computer. I tend to get shoulder aches, but the worst is aches in my hips and thighs from sitting. My job is very stationary which gets really hard to deal with for such long hours. Once I get home I usually won't go near our personal computer because I'm just so tired of it.

I got an iPad, I can not sit for more than ten min at a time as my neck and shoulder muscles have disappeared. So I lay on the sofa with my iPad (nicknamed Lily) on my lap

I'm with you, I can't be on the computer very long - my arms and neck start hurting after a few minutes. I try to get on often but not for too long a time - I enjoy hearing from all of you.

I'd love an I -pad .I'll have to think of a name .My neighbour showed me his (i pad lol)and I fell in love I love the way books look on it and u just flip the page ,I have a netbook its nice and small and to read I have a Kobo reader it is awesome It was very hard for me to hold open a book . My netbook is great for reading too .
