Polymyositis & Dermatomyositis Support Group
Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.
Interestingly, I got my blood work back today. My scores are "fine." I am concerned about the 600 point increase in absolute lymphocytes from a below average score. (Why do I need to be the one recognizing type 2 diabetes symptoms and it has not been mentioned by the rheumy?) I have a new diet. I am exercising. My plan is to lose ten pounds before my next appointment in June. I hope the weight loss, exercise with improved diet might help blood work.
Talk to the rheumy if you begin to feel bad. Check blood sugars and BP. Stay hydrated with plenty of water. CPK is produced by kidneys. I hope things will level out and you will feel better. I will put in some prayers for you to get some answers. Keep us posted. Best Wishes.
