Polymyositis (PM) is a type of chronic inflammation of the muscles (inflammatory myopathy) related to dermatomyositis and inclusion body myositis. The inflammation is predominantly of the endomysium in polymyositis, whereas dermatomyositis is characterized by primarily perimysial inflammation.

Thanksgiving

Does everyone have special plans for Thanksgiving? I haven't really done a big Thanksgiving in many years. It has been just me and my daughter, after my sons left home and were living in other places, so I always cooked just for us and a few times have worked the holiday. I always felt that I am thankful everyday and cook everyday so it didn't really matter. This year I am also working, but doing a split shift and since I work from home I will be here with my daughter. My youngest son lives a few miles away and they just had a new baby a few weeks ago and he has asked me to make some of his favorite items for dinner and my daughter is going over there for dinner. It makes me feel good to cook for him, since he is a cook in a high end restaurant. There are some things that even he cannot cook like mom.

Hopefully this time next year I will be in remission and living in a larger place so that I can have them along with my mother in MI over for dinner. My mother has always told me to daydream about what I want for myself. Today we call that visualizing and I have a visualization board in my room that I place pictures and comments on for my future. I am thankful for all in my life.

Brenda, I am alone for Thanksgiving this year, but I love the quiet time! I am working on the props & clothing for my holiday program at my school. I am practicing piano & my trumpet. I am doing my bible studies. I am thinking about my future with DM and how to carefully carryout future plans. President George Washington is the one who established Thanksgiving as a dedicated day for our nation to thank The Lord for what He has done for us. I am grateful to have this time to give thanks and plan ahead with spirit filled guidance. I hope you will have a fine Thanksgiving..

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am alone for the holiday too...but I decided to fly across the country to spend it with my sister. It will be a very quick trip but I am looking forward to it. I hope my body will guide me through okay!

I have always loved peaceful times alone, but now I seem to have too much of it with working at home and seldom being able to leave the house for long periods of time due to the difficulty walking. My daughter who now lives with me is in beauty school during the day and has gotten a part-time job at one of my favorite stores Williams-Sonoma, so I am alone with the TV. HGTV and the Food Network have become my best friends....just kidding, but I do love those channels.

Lexisgirl, I hope that you have a wonderful time with your sister. I am trying to figure out how to get to Nashville to visit with my sister, or better yet her to come to Tampa to visit with me. I am still not too sure about flying at this time due to the decrease in my immune system and sitting for such a long period of time. I am use to driving up to Nashville, but the pain in my legs won't allow it at this time.
