But i think it is important for all of us to use these dire circumstances as well as we can, and be realistic without giving up hope of recovery.
I have accepted the fact that the physical old me, will probably not exist again. However, the mental, emotional, and caring me is the same.
I have accepted how life is truly precious, and we must all take the time to smell the roses.

But this disease has made me more empathetic and sympathetic toward others and their problems. I am still able to do most things, albeit not as quickly or as well. And I still can walk, talk, travel short distances, etc. I finally came to the realization that my life is NOT over, and that I still have a purpose for being alive. AND, I'm much better off than most other people in the world. Thanks for bringing up these questions.
I will not accept the negativity of the illness and i will not give in to it. That...is unacceptable. I will push through and persevere and though I may never "beat" it...it will not beat me. I have accepted that.
But once you know what you can and can't do it feels better. One day you might discover that you actually can do something you could not before. and then there might be days when another thing pops up that you aren't able to do.
ps--- my dm is not so bad anymore thanks to meds tho.

I pay someone to clean my house. I just couldn't do it anymore
I pay to have someone help me with my yard. I love to garden but I can't do a very good job.
I no longer wear high heels. I can't risk falling.
I have come to terms with my Prednisone body...but I cannot accept it.
I can't dance or skip or hold babies or carry anything over about 20 lbs.
This is getting depressing! I prefer to focus on what I can do. There is still so much I can do even if it is in a different way. As I mentioned, I don't know if I have accepted it but I have come to terms with it.
Blessings,
Kim
