I don't know how to handle what's happening inside of me anymore... Most of the time I'm just mopey and generally miserable. But sometimes - like now - I feel beyond hopeless. I feel lost and scared. And so horribly, painfully alone. It's ruining the best relationship I've ever been in. I'm crying nonstop. I just want to give up on everything and curl up into a ball and cry myself to sleep. Over and over and over again. And no one seems to understand that I have no control over what's happening in my head. I don't know what to do anymore. This is too much for me...
Hey Bethie.. I just got to this forum and saw your post... I completely relate to you and know exactly what you're feeling.
Although I still haven't found many efficient strategies, I just keep reminding myself that thoughts are not my own. That it's OK to feel the way I feel and it's just the brain trying to cope with the hormonal imbalance. I keep saying to myself, this does not define who I am. I keep observing my thoughts.. like.. Hey , there you are, OK.. just do your thing and move along.
I have started taking Avena Sativa, Agnus Castus and 5-HTP which seems to be very beneficial. It's helping. This cycle (my PMDD kicked in yesterday) I feel much more aware and I am able to cope better. I still have those annoying negative thoughts, and still go on the spiral ... I still get depressed and sad and like I am a crazy crazy person. However, I feel like I am coping much better now.. I just want to have some strategies in place so I can cope better and better every single time.
I feel exactly the same way every month and it's getting worse. When you mentioned you had no control over it, I can totally relate, it feels as though there's a strong compulsion to be as distructive as possible taking over your mind and your real self is such a small voice screaming STOP PLEASE! I hope it gets better for you xx
