I hear ya on the no meds outlook.
I charted my daily symptoms for a year, until I got to really know and understand what was going to happen to me and when. Now I just keep the days of my cycle on my calender so I know where I am in my cycle and when the moods happen, anger, hatefulness, depression, negative thinking, unable to concentrate, fatigue... all the rest of it - I know to equate it to my hormone and brain chemicals - not with real life situations. So even tho I feel like I hate my husband and want to KILL him and just get in my car and drive off in to the wilderness never to have to deal with anyone again... I accept that its my crazy internal crap and walk away instead of yelling. I stay away from people at those times. I make myself go out and do the things I like to do even tho I'm not really enjoying them. Coz I won't let this bitch PMDD rob me of my life. Other times I have to accept I am too overwhelmed by depression and hole up on the couch and watch dvd's or read books to stop myself thinking the neg stuff and do what I can to ignore it until my state changes.
Learn to be who you are instead of fighting yourself. Its too tiring.
But learn to bring out and emphasise the good bits - and starve the bad bits by not giving them credibility and control.
Doesn't work all the time, but its what I do and how I get by.
Hugs n best wishes for you. I'm sure it will change as we get on in life. Nothing really ever stays the same :)
Its accepting the 'new' way I am and working with what I have when I have it, not beating myself up for beig who I am, the way I am.
I agree with Dusty. I need to stop fighting myself, judging myself and feeling so "less-than-others". The other Debbie, the capable, competent, bubbly, active Debbie is the real one. The other is who I am when I am ill. And the disorder is an illness.
