PMDD Support Community Group
A group specifically addressing Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder; severe emotional and physical problems associated with the menstrual cycle. A place where we can share our feelings during the tough times and different types of treatments. Moodswings welcome!
Do you keep a journal of your cycle and your mood?
i find that helps a lot, just so you can be aware of the *why* of it.
magnesium can help, but be sure to talk to your doctor before taking any supplements.
Again,i am so sorry you are having such an awful time and wish you hope.
((((( gentle hugs )))))
I will go to a specialist to see if there is anything connected to my hormones.
Keeping a journal will be ideal too, thanks!!
It’s really important to collect 3 months of data to show your doctor.
I know this can be hard because it’s hard to be consistent about ANYTHING, but just a number 1-10 on a calendar, or a smiley or frowns face... something simple you can do every day to track your moods.
Good luck!
I feel you, lady. PMDD has made me feel delusional and selfish and caused so much emotional and physical pain.
If it IS PMDD, a combo of antidepressant and birth control can help create more awareness and stability, and take the edge off the strongest parts. Therapy and building non-medicinal coping skills is also important.
I also took up a good Kung fu school, to build my mindfulness, focus, and self discipline.
Nothing is perfect, but there is hope. I wish you luck! And it sounds like you have a good partner helping you, which can also be huge!
