If you're an armchair traveler with a TV, you probably know Rick Steves, the travel show host who tours Europe on a budget. The near legendary Steves has been doing these shows for decades and almost every episode remains fascinating.
However, there is a caveat. I was watching an episode recently, and at the end noticed that the year that the episode was released was 2002, more than 20 years ago. If you are inclined to repeat his exploits, you might want to consider that a lot has probably changed in 2 decades.

What’s the biggest challenge in your life right now?
Of those 3, I have only been to the airport in London. It was called Heathrow IIRC, and the variety of travellers and their different languages was fascinating to observe.
I was travelling to see the total solar eclipse of 1999 in Bucharest, Romania. It was my greatest adventure ever, and still is.
I have only been to Europe a couple other times, on work assignments, once to Hamburg, Germany and one to Lisbon, Portugal. I don't enjoy air travel.
Wow...Romania! That does sound like an adventure. How long were you there? Hopefully, you were able to see some sites while on your work trips to Hamburg and Lisbon.
My greatest adventure was visiting Taiwan and Hong Kong as part of a youth orchestra tour. A long, long time ago. Lots of great memories.
I love air travel! I'm probably one of very few people who love the takeoff roll. Such a rush. Sometimes, I wish I had learned how to fly a plane. But, for now, I'm grounded.
