What were your folic levels at your last testing and what where you b12 levels? Have they concluded whether or not you have the Intrinsic Factor in your stomach?
My levels have been at rock bottom and I have never been that tired. I get fatigued rather easily, but I've always been able to get up and get going after a night of partial rest. I don't sleep over 4 hours.
I'm wondering if you are getting the right treatment. My hematologist told me that treatments vary depending on the levels, and sometimes it may take a specialized b12 cocktail. I was able to get my levels normal by overdosing on b12 patches. My neurologist wants me to continue using the patches at the rate I was using them to maintain a normal level. I have neuropathy due to my b12 deficiency. I have yet to be told whether or not I have pernicious anemia. I have alot of the classic symtoms when I am deficient, but because I have chronic gastritis, that is why I can't absorb b12. I had one dr tell me I had PA then another one say No. Yet I can't ever donate blood because I'm Anemic--Not from Iron.
Speaking of Iron, are you Iron deficient as well? What about your D3 levels? If I were you I would seek another dr for a 2nd opinion, make sure it's a specialist, because you are too young to be suffering like this. Also if you are iron deficient avoid wheat products because it blocks your iron absorbancy.
they haven't even thought of intrinsic factor in my stomach!
I don't know how you do it, i'm constantly asleep! my school said i have a 10am deadline to be in school because they know about my situation..
I think because my mum and nana have it, they just assumed that's what it is, because my B12's arn't working lately :(
you can get a B12 patch?
well I hope it's nothing major for you! I hope it'll blow over soon! I'm sorry to hear they haven't diagnosed you with anything yet.. I know it's awful, I went a year before they knew what was happening with me!
I'm not a loud a period anymore, because it wasts to much of my blood! :/
Good luck and Happy Holidays
