I never understood why Flea Market Vendors were so nasty, until I cleaned out some of my stuff and rented a table to sell at a church. People want stuff for nothing, that's already dirt cheap. The robbery is rampant too. You need two people to man the table. The lesson I did learn is that being nice goes far far longer than treating folks stuff like its junk. I was selling a lot of handbags. They went like hotcakes. I caught people trying to damage them for spite. So strange. A big trick is to collect all the stuff up into a pile and say what do you want for all of this? No way, not at the beginning of the sale. Maybe at the end of the day. But dealers scoff up all the good stuff and do this all the time. They can tell who is a novice and who is also a dealer. At least they do not physically steal the stuff like some con artists do. I made money, but earned every nickle of it through agrivation. It is different at Yard and Garage sales mostly cause folks don't have to schlepp their stuff some place else.

I have a new respect for sellers both on ebay and at the flea markets. I always give the price asked if it is dirt cheap. Or ASK them if they would take less. Not tell them how much I will pay them. It works for me.
