Oh I envy you having your garden. When I had my house I grew a few things that I liked. Carrots, cherry tomatoes, radishes, Papayas. But the bugs down here make it very hard. Now I am in a condo and have a few herbs.
I tried growing the peppers on my patio, and they would get to be about half grown and the insects would devour them? The white bugiies, I forgot ther names. Enjoy your garden, today it is necessary!

Thanks for sharing gardening is a great way to eat well and save money! Here is a little gardening tip for you. When you eat fresh bananas save the peel cut it up into small pieces and add it to the soil around your plants then cover it with a thin layer of soil and water your plants as usual. The peels will add lots of nutrients to your plants and it is way less expensive than buying potassium for your plants. This tip works extremely well on roses.

The weather last year was so hot night and day that nothing grew well. But I found green peppers grow nice in a pot, they just don't grow so huge. I'm moving so tomatoes might be grown but the squirlles got mine last year so I will be buying them in the market this year. What I am having success growing in pot is my herbs. I have basil, thyme, rosemary and mint. Mint grow well in a pot but doesn't get as tall as they do in the ground. Flavor is the same.

i have three tomato plants this year and they are yielding fruit. have eaten two tomatoes from it. they are romas.
