My son is 27 years old. I am his mom and until recently he lived with me. Over the last 3 months he has detoxed twice. Our family knows he needs tools and professional help however he will not agree to treatment still feeling he has control over his addiction which is not true. Right now he is experienceing 7 days sober with tremors.
Because of this my relationship with my spouse over the last three years has dimished and we are on the verge of seperating. My spouse does not my son to live with us anymore. My son is in the middle of myself and his dad (not my current spouse) who feels my son can just stop, which is wrong. I feel helpless.
Do I tell my son the damage I am experiencing, including the loss of my house. I have been positive with him to a point of enabling which I am currently establishing boundaries, so I feel I'm being as detached as possible. I can not longer have a conversation about this with my spouse who is so angry. I don't want to lose my relationship and consequently seperate and lose my home. I haven't shared this with my son. What do I tell him.
