Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1) Support Group
Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
I didn't replace it with anything but just moved her to sippys of milk during the day, though you could replace it with something if you wanted to. I was really nervous about weaning, too. But, if your child is showing you signs of being ready it will all work out nicely. It did for me and it will for you too. :) I know it's scary, though.
But, by 12 m I was ready and nutritionally it's just fine to wean at that age. It's my personal opinion that there's not a whole lot of value to it after that age except for bonding.
Good luck!
You will want to replace each nursing session with a substitute for now until she gradually cuts back herself.
Keep in mind that some babies still have a need to suck and if you take away the bottle they may rely more heavily on the pacifier.
