Uncle wants to Buy Digital Camera
twr
This is a bit off the subject but I hope someone has some experience. Uncle came for his first Visit, It was wonderful! He left me $ to buy a new camera! I'm so excited, I love playing with Baby Girl Pics. Please give all advice for buying one, what features are best, I'm not an experienced photographer. ease in charging battery and transferring to computer, mega pixels and zoom, are they important...what do you like and not like about your camera. Price doesn't really matter because I'm going to shop around and be patient to get a good deal.

If you can wait a while, you should buy from woot.com. They have a different deal up every day and once every couple of weeks it's a digital camera. I got a Pentax Optio V20 for $109, usually around $250, from there. It's battery lasts nearly forever and when it gets low you just put it in its recharger for an hour. It's super easy to get pics off. It has motion stop, smile capture, face detection, and blink detection. It's video function isn't great, but overall it's a wonderful camera. Really small and really easy to use.

Pixils are very important, but the feature that you want most is how quickly you can take the shots. Digital cameras (the old ones and cheaper ones) have a huge delay making for a LOT of missed shots. I sometimes take 50 pics at a time and only get a couple good shots. I really want the Nikon d60. Its around $550. Its a real camera though, not tiny like the really tredy ones they have out. I am eventually going to go to a camera store and get an education, there might be cheaper ones that do the same thing. Good luck

try Circuit City, they are going out of business (sorry if this was already said)

Canon cameras are great--go to Best Buy or Circuit City and ask the employee---they're usually very helpful. Also, I've always heard that you should stick to "original camera companies" ie. Minolta, Canon, Pentax, etc., Sony, Samsung and the others are better at Tv's.-- avoid those.

We are about to but a new one b/c the one we currently have does not have a continuous shoot feature - this was not important before kids but now that we have two babies, we want to be able to click, click, click otherwise, when you press the button to take a picture there is a delay and with kids that means that whatever cute thing they were doing when you positioned the camera for a picture, they have stopped doing - so the Nikon d60 (the big camera with the big fancy lense) is the TYPE you have to get to have this feature - as far as we have been able to tell, none of the smaller, pocket size, cheaper ones have the continuous shoot and that is what we will not compromise on - so if you think you will want the continuous shoot expect to pay at the least $500 - FYI sams has the best prices we have found so far
