Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1) Support Group
Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
You need to allow him to be a part of that baby's life, either help with changing diapers, bringing you the diapers, ect... a lot of mistakes parents make is keeping the first child away from the new baby and that creates resentment towards you and the new baby.
Time outs are pointless after awhile especially if they do not work, send him to his room instead. As far as the aggression towards the animals ect... he's acting out in anger because he USED to be number 1. You need to nip this in the bud as quick as possible.
You have some "mommy guilt" going on as well to which you will need to face in order to keep your life under control.
I have a 1 yr old (in 6 days) and newborn twins... imagine that shit!!! lol... I know exactly what you're going through however, I let my first born be as interested in the boys as HE WANTS to be, I don't force him to do anything. It comes down to strict parenting, and laying down the law even when you're feeding the new baby. I have been known to put the baby down go over and discipline my oldest... so don't fall in that trap of "I cant stop feeding this child because my oldest won't do what I need him to do" show him that you have NO problem stopping what you're doing to let him know things are completely unacceptable.
