I would try switching formula to see if he has an issue with the new formula. maybe there is a way to get a sample of it so you don't waste your money on a new can and it does the same thing.

When I switched from bf to formula I had the same issue, projectile vomit and quite a bit, along with constipation so we switched formula and now have no problems and she is thriving. I would try switching

I am using the formula that the hospital gave me but I am trying to get away from it all together. I would love to be able to breastfeed exclusively but he wont latch so I am having to pump all the time. What formulas do you use? If I have to continue with the formula route I will only be able to buy what WIC will allow me to get.

Believe it or not, My daughter had a really hard time on the Wic approved formula (Enfimil) and had this same problem so I bough the CVS brand that is supposed to be the equivelent to that brand and she hasn't had any issues. Her gas is less and she does not spit up NEAR as much. Not sure why but it isn't that expensive. I paid 14.00 for the large can and it lasts a long time. Most peditricians have samples of formula they get so you could ask your doctor for a sample of a new kind to try and see how it works. I know my doctor offered me some formula and said if I ever run out they have tons of it they get from the company. Just a thought like RSmith said, that way you're not wasting a whole can or $$. We used enfamil, my twin girls often projectile vomited after having a bottle, at least one to two times a day-losing sometimes what seemed like the entire bottle.

I too was pumping breast milk like a mad woman but unfortunately not making enough and they were a little premature and didn't have a great latch. The doc told us even though it probably looked alarming, it was most likely okay since they were gaining weight well and looked fine otherwise. They had immature systems and a touch of reflux problems. We tried switching to a formula for reflux issues and this just constipated them, so we switched back to the previous formula.

The grew out of the pukeys after about a month, it just slowly went away until it became a non-issue.

formula's harder to digest than breastmilk and has been known to trigger problems in their immature digestive tracts. Before I gave my little one formula exclusively I too was on the same boat trying to breast pump as much as I could and topping her off with formula. Just keep in mind that when formula is introduced they do get fewer bm's (as in reduced to just 2, don't be alarmed like I was :P). My little one is on Enfamil gentlease which is good for fussiness or gassy babies... It's been the only formula that's helped our little one on her transition.
