So many women go through similar things. It's unfortunate but you have the right attitude, you are incredi lucky to have a beautiful baby! I have to start university in September and I only gave birth 5 days ago so you can imagine how hard it will be, but we are doing the best for our children and we have so much to look forward to!

Awwwww, that is so awesome!! She is worth it all, isn't she? That is not to say it isn't tough at times. You sound like a great mom though, and you have the right attitude!

Congrats, and she said mamamama first, you are so lucky my older two both said dada first, I'm hoping that this one says mama. I do know how you feel though with my first two I felt like I missed all their firsts. Just remember as mom you get them at their very best as well as at their very worst, so you will have special smiles and hugs and probably crazy tantrums too, just because you are mom and nobody else gets them.

How sweet! It's sad that you missed her saying it the first time, but how lucky are you that she didn't say dada first. I can't wait for Harley to start talking.

The only problem with them starting to talk is that they never stop!!! LOL

We said that we couldn't wait for Savannah to talk, now we wonder why in the heck we said that!

oh how great...I got a Hi Mama from my 8 month old yesterday and it was magical

I remember when my oldest daughter was in her teens she would get home from school and chatter about her day to me, she needed to do this to unwind and got quite cranky if some else was there and she didn't get the chance to. My husband would say "will you stop talking so much" I always told him to just never mind we want her to talk, trust me later you'll be glad that they talk. Its one of the only ways to know what they are up to sometimes.

I'm pretty sure this one is going to be a chatterbox too, she already chatters and sings. I think its adorable.

That sucks that you didn't get to hear her say it for the first time...good news is that she probably doesn't know what it means yet and was just a sound she made since you weren't there when she said it. I say that's good news because the day she looks up at you saying mama with her arms held out, you KNOW it was meant for you and only you, that's much more rewarding. My son said dada first, but he barely ever gets to see his dad, so I know it was just a sound he made and not knowing what it meant. I actually consider mom his first word because the first time he said it, he was mad at me for changing his diaper, and he yelled "mom!" lookin right at me. Now he crawls following me around saying mama mama mama mama.
