Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1) Support Group
Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
Came on fast and left fast...about three months after I gave birth - around this time of year in 2004...I just sank into this abyss...and I did not come out of it until I spent the night in a hotel and slept in february 2005....I woke up and it was over. I did not have time to get help or medication as my husband was never home or ever came home to help...so I just struggled with it.
Lost my husband in the process...we divorced...but he also became very depressed...men suffer from post pardum depression as well.
Now, I have WICKED PMS...4.5 years later. I still suffer from this chemical imbalance and it is awful. I have tried three medications - two of which made me more psychotic and one helps (a mild dieuretic).
I function well in life, good family, good job, nice house. But I was really down in the dumps for about 3-4 months and severly depressed.
I wish you luck...and everyones experience is different. If you think that you are suffering more than from the baby blues and are depressed, if you can get help that is great. My doctors arent usually any help at all...the last time I went in for an illness the doctor told me that there was nothing wrong and that I was overtired...gee thanks...heres my $35 for nothing...Laughing...

There is a postpartum depression support group here you can visit:

If you don't feel well, please discuss it with your doctor asap. Postpartum depression often requires intervnetion (like medication or therapy) and your doctor is the best person to help you. I experienced it with both of my pregnancies, and I urge you not to wait to get help if you need it. The better you feel, the more you will enjoy being a mom and the experience of infancy.
Best of luck to you.
