Hi Ladies,
I'm going through a tough time at the moment, my baby girl's daddy (the love of my life) has left me...I think he had a bit of a crisis when she was born and he's freaked out and now says that he doesn't want to settle down yet, he wants to have our life back how it was before she was here (although he has such a strong bond with her now) because we could do what we wanted when we wanted (some days I feel like that too but I couldn't imagine my life without her now) If I didn't have her I would not get out of bed...I didn't eat for a week and almost collapsed one day.
I'm so heartbroken, he says he doesn't want that with anyone else...so it makes it so hard to understand :(
I'm struggling so much to deal with this loss, I feel like I'm grieving.
He still sees us, helps with Olivia and makes sure I have all I need etc and we spend time together and we have such a laugh but when he leaves to go home it hits me hard and because Olivia sleeps from 7-7 I have the evenings to myself and just can't stop going over things in my head!
Olivia is just 3 months old...has anyone else had to deal with a split with a newborn to deal with too?

The father of my son and I split while I was pregnant. It was my choice though for many reasons. And while he does come to see his son a few times a week, he has not changed and I don't mourn the loss of him like it sounds you are mourning - and for that, I truly feel for you. It must be difficult on top of having an infant - which is difficult in itself.
What's important now is taking care of YOU and that beautiful little one. Unfortunately, there's nothing that you can do to MAKE him be the partner you want and deserve - only he can make the choice to do that. I realized that with my son's father as well. Barring being able to change them, the only thing we can do is be the best Mommy to our babes that we can be.
great he helps out but other than that you need to move on, get your life in focus and be the best mom you can.
he doesn't need to weigh you down and pretty much had you when he wants you but when he wants to go out and party he can.
good luck sorry if i am being to harsh but you shouldn't allow someone to treat you like that even though its nice when he is around. that is not how it works if you continue to let him treat you like that you will be a door mat the rest of your life.
have him be apart of his daughter life, but if he is not ready to be a parent regaurdless of what his life was before or what he went through he is not mature enough to be a father.

It's like he's become a totally different person and I don't like who that is.
I had a wake up on Tuesday and had a very strong day and that night told him we are not going to spend so much time together anymore because usually we end up in the sack together and it makes me feel used and if he doesn't want to be with me then we need to sort out arrangements for him having Olivia on his days off etc and make it final because at the moment it is being dragged out.
I do have weak moments still alot but my strong moments are gradually becoming more frequent :)
You all are so amazing, just hope I can keep it up
