hello..i have a almost 7 month old little girl and when she was 1..2 .3 months she was a real little piggy and would eat sooo much..wind has always been a problem for her..burping is the way to peace and happiness!!..lol..i once had to pat her on the back for 45 mins to get a burp out!!..if i gave up i knew she would be screaming and crying all night.congrats and yay for little girl..

Congratulations on you new little girl. I have 3 of them myself, and a little boy. Burping can be hard especially for a first time mom. They don't always burb right away and its hard even if they do to tell if they only needed to once. Stay at it. Try using different positions to burp her. With my twins, my daughter has been difficult since she came out. burping her over our shoulder never worked. With her brother, not a problem, but for her we had to hold her in one arm facing away from us, at about a 45 degree angle. Try different things. The same things don't always work for every baby. Hi! I'm a new mom to Baby Prescott born March 2nd, also via c-section. We had a rough start. The c-section was emergency, 2 weeks before his due date. He had a lot of problems in the womb like cord around his neck, bad placenta, low fluid, etc... Once he was here, he ended up being put in the NICU to be treated for possible infection. He was there for a week before we finally got to bring him home. Breastfeeding didn't work out for us. After being given bottles and pacis in the NICU, and me having to use a nipple shield for an inverted nipple, and having a lot of pain thanks to the nipple shield and my pump flanges being too small, we ended up with too many hurdles to be successful. It made me very upset that I couldn't give him the one thing that I felt like I should be able to, but I eventually came to terms with it. Nothing has gone as planned with this kid, and if it's taught me anything, it's to stop planning.

Now that we've gotten past all that drama, I think we're finally starting to settle into a groove. I go back to work in a week and a half, so hopefully we'll have somewhat of a routine down by then. Luckily I only work part-time, so it won't be so bad going back.

As far as burping goes, mine doesn't always burp. It seems like if he's going to, it's as soon as I sit him up. Otherwise, it either doesn't happen, or happens very delayed (like when I'm putting him back to bed, or moving him around to change his diaper). I've figured out that he fusses when he's hungry, sleepy but fighting sleep, bored, gassy, or feeling neglected (in other words, he wants to be held and talked to). Other than that, he's a pretty chill baby.
