I just had my first baby boy in October and he is wonderful. However, after giving birth I was diagnosed with a autoimmune disease that causes severe blistering all over my body. This disease is caused by stress and levels of hormones going up and down. I am supposed to go back to work on January 9th and I am already dreading it. First of all I have to place my son in daycare..ugh...the though of someone else taking of my son makes me cry! And second of all the thought of going back to work..which is a very stressful environment....is making me cry as well. All I do is cry! There is no way that I can stay home and not bring in a paycheck, but I feel like I'm going to die if I have to go back! Does anyone else feel this way?

Oh my, I think every mom on earth feels this way. I was a teen mother my senior year of high school and gave birth 1 month before graduation. I could only stay home one week then go back so I could graduate with honors, otherwise my honors would be taken away.

I think the first week back, I cried every day when I brought him to my mom for daycare. Now I am working and in college so I have to bring my son to a real daycare center and its not so bad anymore. I still feel kind of bad that he has to spend his day without me but I don't cry when I leave him there anymore.

It does get better, and over time you won't even flinch when you do it anymore. Definately takes some getting used to though!!!

I am going back to work Jan 3rd and am NOT looking forward to leaving my DD. I have to put her in daycare for a few weeks until my mom gets here to watch her. i would love to stay home, but financially it is impossible. :( Hopefully we will be ok!

Hey there. My son was born 9/25, and I too go back to work 1/9/12. He'll be in daycare full time. I love my job, but I am so dreading sending him to daycare. I know I'll be a total mess that first day, that first week, maybe the first month! It is so hard. I really do love what I do, and before I had my son I couldn't imagine I would want to be a SAHM . . .but now I'd really love to. We just can't do that financially, and I have great health insurance. I know every mom probably feels this way about sending their baby to daycare, and they survive it and it gets easier. I think it's way harder on us than it is the babies!

I actually just posted this same topic. I'm beyond dreading it. We can't afford for me to not work (fiance is on unemployment for the winter) and our health insurance is through my work, so REALLY can't not work. I go back 1/1, and my son was born 10/5.
